Our academy’s screening process is one of a kind. We pre-evaluate each future student skill’s to determine which program he/she BEST qualifies for. This way the student can be placed in the program that BEST fits his/her needs. All of our programs are age specific and skill specific which enables us to target each participant’s stage of development. Each student is evaluated in 4 categories: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and Social, and each category runs the child through 3 tasks. Our Pre-Qualification proceess will not only help determine whether the child qualifies for group classes, but also allows the instructors to spot the students strengths and weaknesses which contribute to the design of the class planers.
Definitely, and encouraged to participate! A high percentage of children enrolling at our academy have one or both parents attending classes with them. Consider enrolling as a family!

Adult Brazilian Jiujitsu

All of our classes are open to all skill levels, beginner through advanced. We focus on the fundamentals of jiujitsu, which are simply the most effective parts of the art. We also do a lot of specific drilling and training, which teaches you how to apply techniques and movements during a “live” roll.
No, Competition is not for everyone. In fact, the term “Sport Martial Arts” is a sort of oxymoron. Competition is an excellent way to promote a particular martial art and help it gain popularity with the public. Additionally, sportive martial arts allows a practitioner a way to balance realistic practice with safe everyday training. This sportive practice can be done in the school or in a public at large competitions. Although sportive practice has many benefits, they are sometimes overshadowed by ego and a typical sports-fan type behavior that is contrary to a good Martial Artist’s conduct; newbies can often be confused by this or turned in the wrong direction quickly.
Of course! Brazilian Jiujitsu is one of the most effective self defense systems for women. All classes are co-ed and the academy offers a safe non-intimidating environment for women to learn.
This varies from person to person, “Generally” it takes anywhere from 7 – 12 years if the student trains consistently, it really depends on the individuals. However, there have been cases where students have received Black Belts in 2 – 3 years, but this is an exception to the norm.
